Mentorship Program
Our Mentorship program is a social and emotional support group. Students identified as high-risk are paired with a community mentor who meets with them three times a month outside of group meetings to provide individualized support. The Mentorship Program engages youth through both prevention and intervention strategies. We meet Wednesdays 5:00-7:30PM with transportation and food provided.
Our mentorship model includes weekly group sessions where participants take part in activities, enjoy culturally relevant meals, and engage in discussions about their community experiences and ethnic identities. Each participant is paired with a mentor from their community (Karen or Karenni), who also meets with them weekly for individual check-ins and support.
Our Mentors
Mentors at The Urban Village are trusted community guides who build meaningful, consistent relationships with youth, supporting them through identity development, education, and personal growth. They help create a safe, culturally grounded space where young people can connect, thrive, and move confidently toward their goals.
